Getting sick is not a fun thing, but get well cards can help recovery. The following examples are designed to help you figure out what to write in a get well card. Make sure to edit these to match the ill person's situation.

What to Say Instead of "Get Well Soon"
There are many options for what to say or write other than the overused words "Get well soon." If you haven't figured out something else to write at this point. Here are alternatives:
- May you be restored to health expediently!
- Heal fast and heal thoroughly.
- Wishing wellness your way!
- Don't waste time being ill, get on to getting better!
- If you were better right now, it wouldn't be soon enough.
- Get rid of your bug and feel better!
- Looking forward to hearing that you're better soon.
- Don't take long getting better.
- Hurry up and get back to your normal self!
Using Words and Themes to Write a Get Well Message
Use these words when designing your own message. Use as many as possible, and your message will write itself. Add a touch of humor and give it personal meaning and you are sure to help someone start feeling better soon.
- Adjectives: Quick, well, fast, full, soon, better, complete, easy, strong, energetic
- Nouns: Strength, thoughts, prayers, miracle, hope, faith, health, recovery, spirits
- Verbs: Improve, recover, hope, care, want, pray, wish, send, brighten
- Encourage the person
- Entertain the person
- Instill hope for recovery
- Get the person to laugh
- Let the person know they are loved
- Distract them from their illness
- All of the above
