Retirement Wishes for a Police Officer

9/3/2020

Police Officer Retirement Messages

What to Say to a Retiring Police Officer

Police officers sacrifice their safety and sanity for the good of society. It's a difficult job, and some don't make it to retirement age or stay with it long enough to retire. When an officer does retire, the following examples could be used to wish the officer a happy retirement.
  • You're no longer cuffed to a job. You're a free person!
  • Think of all the lives you've helped in your career. The world needs more police officers like you. Thank you for all you've done and the legacy you've left for the next generation.
  • You've done your hard time and now it's time to enjoy some freedom!
  • No more lights and sirens or roaring engines! Wishing you just as much excitement in your retirement but a different type!
  • Life is hard as an officer of the law. It won't necessarily be any easier. Good thing you have a lot of experience to take on your new assignment.
  • You deserve a wonderful retirement. I wish you the best as you take on civilian life!
  • You have served and protected for many years. Now it's time to be served and protected. Congratulations on your years of service!
  • No more traffic stops or writing reports! You'll soon be living the dream that all police officers aspire to live.
  • Life as we know it wouldn't be possible without officers like you who keep law and order and protect and serve. You have protected us all in ways we may never know. Congratulations on your retirement from the force!
  • You may be even more active as a civilian. Knowing how hard you've worked all these years on the force, I can only imagine what you'll get yourself into in retirement.
  • You'll always be part of the brotherhood in blue. We have mad respect for whatever you chose to do.
  • Time is on your side now. There's no emergency to respond to. There's just your own dreams for what to do next.

You may not wear the uniform anymore, but you're still our hero!
  • You left your family many days to protect ours. Please enjoy your new-found time with your family and friends.
  • You're being reassigned to a new precinct and role. I'm happy to wish you the best in your retirement!
  • Life probably won't be the same after serving on the force all these years. I hope it's better than you expect!
  • You chose a noble and risky profession. Thank goodness for people like you who are willing to keep putting the uniform on until retirement. Thank you, and congratulations!
  • Goodbye tension! Hello pension!
  • With what you've accomplished in your career as an officer, you've made all your family and friends proud to know you. I hope you have just as much success in all you new adventures!
  • You've spent many years enforcing the law. The lives you've touched have impacted countless lives in our community. Thanks for all that you've done over your long and productive career.
