Keep in mind that even though your mom probably loved your hand made works of art you gave her as a little kid, she will be expecting a meaningful Mother's day message in her card. Think about something that you truly appreciate about your mom and let her know. If that doesn't seem to be working, then use a joke that you know she will enjoy and at least make her laugh. Getting a reaction, whether crying or laughing, is probably a good sign, as long as they are good laughs or cries.
